Keep you turntable in top working order, and replace your old drive belt with one that has recently been produced; so providing the correct tension and grip and avoids the belt slipping.
If your old belt has been unchecked for a period of time, you may find that it has disintegrated or has left a black gooey residue. Care should be taken when removing these old belts so as not to cover sensitive parts of the drive or bearings in any residue or debris. If the black residue has stuck to critical parts this can normally be wiped away with Isopropyl Alcohol
